   Chapter Advisor Responsibilities and Duties  

An informed, well-organized and motivated chapter advisor is essential to the successful operation of a Career-Technical Student Organization (CTSO) chapter. Efficient supervision of the chapter program requires a commitment to the activities, an ability to uncover and manage human and material resources, and an attention to detail.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Organizing and coordinating all chapter activities

2. Following policies and procedures related to Career-Technical Student Organization activities

3. Submitting chapter affiliation forms to the District Advisor

4. Submitting the names of competition winners throughout the year using the CTSO Award Recipient form. (have link to necessary form here)

5. Integrating CTSO activities into your curriculum

6. Marketing chapter activities and success to the administration and surrounding public

7. Obtaining administrative approval for field trips, fundraisers and service projects

8. Meet with school's APA regarding policies and procedures for your school's student organizations

9. Developing a Program of Work for the year's activities

10. Chaperoning all chapter activities on- and offsite

11. Meeting deadlines set for affiliation, meeting and competition registration, and student recognition submission

12. Supporting and guiding chapter officers

13. Supervising participation in local, district, state and national activities

14. Verify student eligibility for participation in chapter activities and competition
