Standard of Excellence Awards
| A Tampa Bay Tech Yearbook Tradition 1995 -2000 | ||
| There is not a single staff member that does not
contribute each year to a successful yearbook. There are many
different rolls that a staff member must fill during the course
of the year, photographer, writer, sales person, computer operator
and editor to name a few. As a member of the staff you quickly
become aware that this is a huge and important task and all deadlines
must be met. A yearbook staff is held to the highest level of
accountability by both the student body and of course the parents.
Misspelled names and missing photos are not acceptable. These awards are all about THANK YOUS that you may never get, these awards are for those staff members that know the feeling of seeing, smelling and feeling these books when the boxes are first cracked open and ready to be distributed. These awards are for those students that somehow may have risen to a level just a little higher than a staff full of worthy recipients of these awards. Each year recipients of these awards recieve Standard of Excellence certificates in the following areas: |

| The
Jason Blanchard Award For Outstanding Photography Jason joined the yearbook staff in his junior year not exactly knowing what he was about to discover. After a few short weeks of class, volunteers were asked to try out shooting photos for the book. It was then that Jason discovered that not only did he enjoy taking photos but, he was quite good at it. This was the beginning of a good vet student going from animals to celuloid. To make a long story short Jason brought the word photography to the yearbook, he made sure we got new cameras that were worthy of his new found talent as he took most of the photos in the 95 and 96 books. The 1995 book "A shock to the system" marked the new beginning of successful Titan yearbooks. Much of the books success can be attributed to the outstanding photography of Jason Blanchard therefore it's with great honor we have named this award. Jason is currently enlisted in the United States Army, where he is persuing the love he found at TBT as a Videographer. 1996 Jason Blanchard 1997 Edward J. "Each year at least one staff member will be a surprise this person usually comes out of no where and starts performing at a higher level than we could possibly expect. This is the essence of this award named for Nissie Perez, the biggest surprise of the 1997 yearbook staff. She not only completed her job as the people section editor but she also worked her way into becoming our assistant chief editor for the 96/97 yearbook. 1997 Nissie Perez Assistant Chief Editor 1998 Estelle Kilkenny People Section Editor 1999 Jamie Doris Assistant Chief Editor 2000 Adam English Academic Editor |
