Everyone at Tampa
Bay Technical High School have one thing in common; Titan Pride.
Like every other school, we have a yearbook staff and an advisor
who work together to create a memorable yearbook. Our goal is
to capture a year's worth of memories in the form photo images
and good writing. This year the Titan staff we have taken a step
further and created this web site for you, the viewer. We hope
you enjoy this site as much as we did making it.

The
Story Behind the Theme Each year returning staff members are chosen to go to "Yearbook Palooza" which is a summer workshop used for staff building and yearbook training. We went this year all set with our theme "Ahead of the Rest." Thinking there was going to be a contest like the year before, we had already had the theme, follow-through and all the mini themes for the sections decided. We were totally prepared to proceed with our wonderful theme so off to our classes we went. Some classes we sat through were lectures and some of the classes we learned how to do something totally foriegn to us; paper layouts! We had to learn how to make spreads the "old fashioned way." Kendra Konitzer, our editor, along with the rest of us believe that designing the spreads on the computer seems alot easier. Our yearbookpalooza instructer couldn't figure out why our staff was in the advanced layout class and didn't seem to know a thing about layouts. We think she must have been as frustrated as we were when she explained to the rest of our class that it was like teaching a bird to walk who has only flown. When the our group got back together later that morning we mentioned the statement that our instructor had made to Mr. Naylor. After a short conversation we believe it was Adam Bowers that came up with "WHY WALK WHEN YOU CAN FLY?" It met our theme requirements immediatly and we liked this theme better than the one we came with. It was a great idea and was taken under our wings instantly. Next we had an appointment with the Herff Jones staff artist. We went into the cover design room with our new theme and ready to design the next great cover. With our great minds and the hands of a skilled professional artist provided by our publisher we began the design process. Kris suggested a white cover to be different was quickly shot down. However after a little more thought, we kind of liked the idea if we added blue to it. The rest was easy, we all agreed on the "T" with the lightning bolt and the artist just did his magic. We have our cover...It's Beautiful. Yearbook Palooza was great fun, despite all of the hardships in coming to our final theme. All of us from Palooza feel a unique connection with the book this year. In the words of Kris Thomason, " I feel that we all had a part in it. Not just my picture, but my soul." |

Ruth
Encarnacion Academics Editor "I think confidence plays a big role in life. I considered myself a hip old fasioned spanish-pentecostal. Everything I do is for the Glory of God- Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. I am a people-people and I love honesty and I am very frank and forward. My goals are to get married and have kids, and become something in life including a Pastorship soon . The Shequinah of God be with you." IN APPRECIATION I thank God for the opportunity given to me to work with Mr. Naylor and the staff. The steps were taken considerably when it was time to step and walk. My senior friends who I love so much; Luis, Diego, Nini, Melodie, Ashley, Dayileen, Kristin, Fawn and Deeba. I also thank my parents and relatives who were behind me all the way no matter who bad my grades were at times. I thank the little people who put up with me the whole year. It was hard work but someone had to do it. FINAL WORDS Coming to this school was the hardest decision encountered by me at that time, and I now encounter harder choices that appear at my door. Four years have gone by and now I must leave. I cannot realize the fact of leaving We become very close friends. Keep the legacy that makes the trip worth a while. I say good bye to the Titans but keep the spirit of the real meaning of TBT. The Titans must always exceed in life. Good Luck and best wishes. |
