The Next Wave of Champions

Welcome to the first Florida SkillsUSA The Next Wave of Champions newsletter. We are about to kick off the 2007-08 year, and your state officers have been working hard all summer to ensure that this is the best year that Florida SkillsUSA has ever seen! We all hope that you are ready to join the officer team in executing their program of work, which will be outlined in this first issue of The Next Wave of Champions.
We'd like to start off by saying to the amazing members of SkillsUSA "Welcome back!" and to those who have joined us for the first time, "Welcome!" As you know, or will soon find out, this organization is full of great opportunities that we hope every member will take advantage of. SkillsUSA has offered us so much over the past years, and we can't wait to get started on another. We are eager to see all of those familiar faces again at the State Leadership and Training Workshop, the Regional Competitions, and the State Conference. We are also eager to meet the new additions to the Florida SkillsUSA family.
Now you are probably wondering what these newsletters are all about. In these publications, the state officers will be communicating important information to you, as well as giving you advice on how to handle upcoming events. We want you to have the best year possible, and we want you to feel comfortable with the team of officers that is serving you this year. We hope nobody will be afraid to come up to any officer, even if it is just to say "Hi." With that said, we hope to make a lot of new friends this year.
Now, as you get ready to flip through the pages of this newsletter and get all the information you can, just remember one thing: "You are a Champion at Work." Good luck this year!

Sincerely,

Michael Brun, State Historian
Brett Farrell, State Reporter
Juliana Ortiz, State Secretary
Public Relations Committee
