The Florida SkillsUSA
Skills and Leadership Conference is an educational activity provided
by the state of Florida and Florida SkillsUSA, Inc. in cooperation
with a volunteer host school district, and attendance is not
mandatory-it is voluntary. As such, all participants are expected
and required to abide by the Code of Conduct as stated below
to reflect the finest possible image on the organization, the
student, the schools, and the parents of the students concerned.
The Florida SkillsUSA is a resource and support organization
that does not select, control or supervise local chapter or individual
member activities except as expressly provided in the Florida
SkillsUSA Constitution and Bylaws.
1. I will at all times, respect all
public and private property, including the hotel/motel to which
I am assigned or in which I am staying.
2. I will spend each night in the room to which I am assigned.
I will not change rooms without permission from my Advisor, Regional
Coordinator and the state Director.
3. I will abide by the curfew established, and I shall respect
the rights of others by being as quiet as possible.
4. I will not entertain members of the opposite sex in my room,
nor shall I go into another room of the opposite sex without
the door being open and without the permission of my advisor.
5. I shall refrain from the use of alcoholic beverages or drugs
of any type, unless I am taking a drug prescribed by a duly licensed
physician, in which case I shall have the orders of the physician
on my person.
6. I will not leave the hotel without the express permission,
I shall leave written notice of where I shall be at all times.
7. My conduct shall be exemplary at all times.
8. I will keep my advisor informed of my whereabouts at all times.
9. I will, at all times, wear my nametag.
10. I will observe the proper dress code at all times.
11. I will attend all meetings of this conference when scheduled,
and I shall be on time for such meetings.
I agree that if, for any reason, I am in violation of any of
the rules of the conference, I may be brought before the Disciplinary
Committee for a hearing on the violation, and I shall accept
the penalty as imposed on me, to the extent of immediately being
sent home at my own expense.
